A moving column has to assume its network will thin. The link is jammed and positioning is denied and the emplacement keeps moving while the threat adapts mid-fight. Every node is built to decide locally and to stay coherent globally so protection moves at the speed of the formation from an emplacement that is austere and mobile in a spectrum that is already contested. It is built for the battery commander whose coverage has to travel with the column.
